Welcome, I’m so glad you are here!

Here I am a hot mess, first day home from hospital and pretty much missing baby's feeding cues (fist to his mouth!)

Welcome, I’m so glad you are here! I hope this page offers you some resources and a life-line as you begin to learn about breastfeeding – whether you are still expecting OR sitting with your newborn in your arms!

As a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I can offer you the clinical expertise to help you achieve your breastfeeding goals. We can talk about latch and milk supply and baby poop (I can talk about that for days!) and baby’s weight gain. We can discuss night wakings and cluster feedings and how to use your breastpump. Indeed, the list that I can help you with is endless and we WILL discuss a lot of these things, for sure! But, BUT, just know that I am here, and ready to help and listen on the days when everything is falling to pieces and even on the days when things are starting to click. If you are at all human (and I’m guessing you are!), you WILL have those days of both highs and lows!

Before I became an IBCLC, and before that a breastfeeding peer counselor, I’ll let you in on a little secret. Not too, too long ago, I was feeling the same feelings that you may be feeling. I was a new mom, a first-time breastfeeder. I was up in the middle of the night, with sore boobs and a frantic newborn, and I was crying both tears of joy and tears of fear! I’ll spare you THOSE photos! If there was one thing that comforted me and brought me to my senses in those confusing first moments of motherhood, it was for sure the SUPPORT people that I had around me. I’m lucky to have a husband that helped me with all things boobs and baby in the early weeks (and still he’s running kids around to afterschool activities on the regular). But I also sought help from a breastfeeding peer counselor (shout out Vicky!) and my first lactation consultant (shoult out Mickey!) to guide me and help me refocus and keep going with my breastfeeding journey.
